The Red Rock Collection Release

The Erin Hanson Gallery presents The Red Rock Show

Wednesday, July 4, 2018

The Erin Hanson Gallery presented Hanson’s newest collection of vibrant paintings on June 16, 2018. Each piece in the Red Rock collection featured bright, bold colors inspired by the National Parks and monuments of Utah, Arizona, Nevada and Colorado.

Every painting in The Red Rock Show featured the thick, impasto strokes Erin Hanson is well known for, paired with a brilliant color palette. As you peruse the collection (found here), you will see that each painting creates an intricate landscape filled with detail and beauty, with very few brush strokes. This is a signature element in Hanson’s open impressionism.

Collectors, art enthusiasts, and locals gathered at The Erin Hanson Gallery on the night of The Red Rock Show, filling the space with discussion, laughter, and joy. A subtle, twangy tune seeped its way through the gathering as guests sipped local wine from 2Plank Vineyards. Every aspect of the show was designed to create a memorable experience for all attendees.

Hanson told us, “I love to meet anyone who enjoys art, to talk with them about how they see the world, and to share my vision of the natural beauty that surrounds us.”

About Erin

ERIN HANSON has been painting in oils since she was 8 years old. As a teenager, she apprenticed at a mural studio where she worked on 40-foot-long paintings while selling art commissions on the side. After being told it was too hard to make a living as an artist, she got her degree in Bioengineering from UC Berkeley. Afterward, Erin became a rock climber at Red Rock Canyon, Nevada. Inspired by the colorful scenery she was climbing, she decided to return to her love of painting and create one new painting every week.

She has stuck to that decision, becoming one of the most prolific artists in history, with over 3,000 oil paintings sold to eager collectors. Erin Hanson’s style is known as "Open Impressionism" and is taught in art schools worldwide. With millions of followers, Hanson has become an iconic, driving force in the rebirth of impressionism, inspiring thousands of other artists to pick up the brush.
