Brilliant hues of refracted light glimmer in the coastal fog of Mendocino. The brush strokes are thick and impressionistic, capturing the beauty of the California cypress tree. Erin Hanson's unique approach to oil painting involved pre-mixing her entire palette from a limited selection of five pigments. She then places the brush strokes side by side without layering, creating a mosaic of color and texture across the canvas. This diptych is designed to hang unframed. The sides of the 1-1/2" canvases are painted wrap-around style, so that you can see the painting continue when viewed from the side. Please place the paintings 2" apart on the wall.
