Retracing Van Gogh’s Steps - Amsterdam to Basel with Erin Hanson
Tuesday, October 13th, 2026
The Netherlands
After retracing the steps of van Gogh and Monet in France this past summer, Erin Hanson returned to her Oregon studio, inspired and ready to recreate the magic she experienced. This journey birthed a stunning new collection, including works like Reflections on the Seine and Water Hues.
Erin is now preparing for the next piece of the puzzle: a trip to The Netherlands in the fall of 2026. The Netherlands is not only van Gogh’s home country but the location of The Van Gogh Museum, which houses the world’s most extensive collection of his works.
Just as she did with her journey along the Seine, Erin invites her fans and collectors to join her on a 7-day cruise, starting in Amsterdam and traveling down the Rhine to Basel, Switzerland.
It’s an extraordinary opportunity to witness iconic landscapes and artwork firsthand, gain new insight into Erin's creative process, and be part of an unforgettable adventure.
CRUISE DETAILS:
The journey will begin in van Gogh's native country, the Netherlands, where art and culture-related activities are aplenty. The cruise will then set sail with stops including Cologne, Rüdensheim, and Ludwigshafen, Germany; Strasbourg, France; and Basel, Switzerland. Guests will be invited to join Erin Hanson on a series of excursions and special activities.
- A live painting demonstration by Erin Hanson.
- Onboard art-related activities.
- A chef's table dinner with Erin Hanson.
- We hope to offer guided excursions to the Van Gogh Museum and Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.
- ... and more!
Each day's activities will be infused with the region's fall color magic and offer a unique chance to experience natural views with the queen of landscapes, Erin Hanson.
